My approach to marriage therapist/counseling/coaching is to help the couple improve their relationship by helping them grow in their understanding and love for each other. I focus on understanding the feelings of both individuals and help them communicate their feelings to each other in a way that will build their intimacy, trust, and respect. Collaborative problem solving, listening vs. fixing, love languages, and goal setting are some of the tools commonly used in my sessions. If I feel one or both individuals could benefit from individual therapy or another applicable service, I generally provide recommendations on what I think could be most helpful.
