You don’t know what you don’t know. If you didn’t have a good role model to show you how to be in a healthy relationship or how to be a nurturing parent, how are you going to navigate that path in your life? I am here to help you discover and become the individual, partner, or parent you have always wanted to be.
I work regularly with parents to address the issues that come with starting, adding to, or blending a family: changes to parental/marital relationship, single parenting, work/life balance, sibling behaviors.
Young adults (15-20) respond well to my direct approach in helping them navigate their growing independence and guidance in finding their sense of self, establishing boundaries, and setting goals.
When working with individuals and couples around struggles in their relationships, I integrate the work of John and Julie Gottman. We working on moving past defensiveness, stonewalling, and criticism and implementing shared values, improved communication, and turning towards one another.
In addition, I am a trained leader for Dr. John Gottman’s “7 Principles for Making Marriage Work.” I am able to facilitate workshops to help couples add these principles to the way they approach their relationship and use this approach in my private practice.
