Initial sessions are typically information gathering from each individual. The hope is that in the first few sessions we can identify common goals. We explore matters beyond the relationship ensuring that each partners individuality and values are noted. We identify common values and discuss how these are displayed, including how love and care is expressed and accepted. Quiet often the dynamics in a relationship are hindered by poor communication. We establish boundaries for fighting fairly, being kind and establishing respect. I also use mediation as a way to approach impasses and find a agreed upon compromise.
