Carla completed her Master’s degree in Social Work from University at Buffalo. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with several years of counseling experience across a variety of treatment settings including VA, for-profit and community-based services. Before settling in psychotherapy, Carla engaged in multiple internships to fully understand the needs of various populations. Currently, she is also working in a community complex trauma clinic where she provides treatment to adults, couples, families, and groups in the following areas:

In 2020, she will be completing comprehensive training in the area of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, wherein she will provide comprehensive treatment addressing the mental health impacts inherent with this diagnosis and learning skills to manage in the adult population. She also specializes in late life diagnosis of Attention Deficit Disorder in women.
Carla provides treatment utilizing empirically-based modalities, which means that all therapies have been researched and tested and found effective and valid. She utilizes a blend of treatment providing a holistic approach by exploring with the client and educating them about how mind, spirit and body are interconnected through client-focused and solution-focused therapies. By using skill-based therapies, such as DBT, CBT and ACT, in combination with psychoeducation, these approaches can provide people hope and they can learn to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes, and make it possible for people to experience change.
