I use EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy) for Couples. We figure out the destructive pattern of communication that is driving disconnection and misunderstanding between couples. We figure out what the underlying emotions and needs are behind that cycle, and work to replace the defensive, critical or withdrawing behaviors with vulnerability and clarity of feelings, needs and desires to help the couple understand and bond with each other better and more securely. A couple that can't talk well can't work through even small things... but a couple with a strong bond of communication and respect can take on anything that comes their way and end up stronger.
