My approach to marriage therapy is experiential using emotionallly focused therapy for couples. EFT helps them sort out the cycle of distress they get caught in. All couples do. Once the couple understands their negative interactional pattern they are then better equipped to prevent arguments from getting out of control. No one likes being disconnected from the person they love the most. Once de-escalation is achieved the couple is then able to find the safety they need to be vulnerable with each other.
