To achieve wellness, I offer a patient-centered partnership to support and empower them in making informed choices toward change. Every client is unique, and it is my job to assist you through a therapeutic process of transforming pain and other emotional distress into hope, strength, positive change, and achievement. I provide customized treatment to address patient needs through integrative mental health counseling. Common issues include, but are not limited to, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, identity development/issues, high performance, trauma, family conflict, co-parenting, and relationships.
I view families similarly to how I view homes. Some are beautiful on the exterior, and one would assume has no interior issues. Others are clearly in need of repair based on the exterior. Yet, I remind myself that the exterior isn't everything. Once you enter the home, structural challenges and mysteries may be behind closed doors. As a therapist, I help you open the doors by reevaluating the shortfalls, building support and a study framework, and upgrading what works.
I believe that everyone has the ability to change, improve their overall wellness, and achieve their dreams. Successful outcomes are accomplished through insight-oriented conversations that provide motivation, assess overall wellness, identify strengths, and create a safe space to explore oneself.
For 16 years, I have worked with adolescents and adults, providing individual, couples, family, and college counseling. I am a professor for SUNY graduate Oswego’s Counseling and Psychological Services program. I am a Past President of the American Counseling Association of New York.
