Nikki believes in the redemptive power of relationships. She has championed the cause for more than a decade by walking alongside marriages and families as they heal and grow. She is passionate about helping individuals, couples and families identify ways to enact positive change. As an adoptive parent and psychotherapist, Nikki also understands and respects both the pressures involved in building a family, coupled with the unique gifts and learning experiences that the adoption dynamic brings.
Nikki has extensive experience collaborating with agencies and community ambassadors in developing programming that revitalize and enrich the lives of couples and family systems. She enjoys taking on the trickiest, stickiest relationship issues after couples have all but given up. Nikki also works with a variety of other issues, including women’s issues, depression, codependency and divorce recovery. Nikki’s training and specialization include marriage and family therapy, trauma-informed care, and adoption-sensitive therapy, including transracial adoption issues. She is a Level-One Theraplay® Practitioner and is passionate about bringing trauma-informed interventions into systems of care. Nikki is a founding Board member of Relationships First™ and a Safe Conversations® Master Trainer. She believes that the most impactful way to shift to a relational culture is through meaningful, effective and safe engagement.
Nikki reminds you where you are strong, pushes you where you can grow, and gets you to ask yourself the questions you put off, but need to answer.
