During my time working as a Bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor, I have had the opportunity to work with adolescents, adults, and couples in different settings that includes community counseling centers, emergency shelters, and my most recent experience in primary care clinic.
I have experience in working with mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, healthy-unhealthy relationships, domestic abuse, self-esteem, vocational stress, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder. In addition to my work related experience, I have conducted group sessions and presentations related to the topics of self-esteem, faith and spirituality, and women related issues.
As a therapist, my main focus is to create a safe, sensitive, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for the client. I believe the therapeutic process is one in which an individual can transform and evolve in life by pulling from their own resources and strengths and gaining new insights. I am trained on EMDR therapy (English & Spanish), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
