Larry is a trained Emotionally Focused Therapy therapist and works specifically from this theoretical model. Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a proven effective treatment for distressed couples, families and individuals. Clients undergoing EFT are helped to better identify, experience, explore, make sense of, transform and flexibly manage their emotional experiences. EFT is a short-term model (usually 8-20 sessions) that is backed by significant research. Seventy to seventy-five percent of couples move from distress to recovery after participating in EFT and at two-year follow-up these gains are sustained. The focus of EFT treatment is to increase security and safety in the attachment relationships and bonds in life. Feeling disconnected and emotionally isolated can lead to depression, anxiety and loss. Working from an EFT perspective allows us to address the emotional patterns in life that may be getting in the way of feeling securely connected with others.
