Hi, my name is Katherine Boelts, LMFT, I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I love my job and seeing the growth and progress in those I work with.
I help adults who are exhausted from doing everything for everyone and feeling like they aren’t getting anywhere. Feel like their emotions are controlling them, and worried about so many things they can’t think straight. You aren’t alone, and you don’t have to go through this alone. I work hard to earn my client’s trust, so they can truly feel safe in the therapeutic space.
My clients experience a sense of relief at being able to let their feelings out with someone who is impartial and warm. They find me to be kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and understanding. They also experience growth and change over their time in therapy, not just a reduction in their anxiety but an increase in confidence in their relationships, their career and how they feel about themselves. Sometimes there are worksheets and homework, sometimes there is sarcasm and humor, mostly there will be understanding, encouragement, honesty, and no judgment.
For over 20 years I have worked with people who have anxiety, worry, and panic attacks. I work collaboratively to help them reach their goals and become the confident person they want to be. My clients typically video chat with me weekly so they have consistent support wherever they are and throughout the month. The weekly schedule allows them time to integrate what they have learned, as well as process what is currently happening in their lives. I often integrate coping skills, mindfulness, cognitive behavior therapy, thought reframing, and metaphors to help put things into context.
