Couples change throughout the lifespan, because of the different challenges life presents, such as becoming a parent, estrangement from an affair, illnesses in one of the partners, child or both, sexual problems, conflicts with a partner’s family members, losses, adjustments to a child who has special needs or a grown up child who has a different lifestyle.
