I often share with the couples coming to see me that I take a practical approach with three main emphases. As we discuss disagreements and logjams, I have the opportunity to teach communication skills (and practice them), root out destructive practices as it relates to what I call "rules of engagement violations" and identify and practice averting the crazy cycles every couple have. Men's and women's needs, especially for respect, love and partnership are emphasized.
