My approach is to maintain a realistic, ongoing helpful attitude with play-by-play comments on the interaction of the couple. Redirecting, explaining, rehearsing good dialogue recommendations and examples provides immediate relief and help. Utilizing common sense and getting down to the nitty gritty of what each wants and is willing to do to achieve harmony and fairness in the relationship is paramount to the therapy healing process. I strive to be sensitive and empathic but practical and goal direct. I evaluate each person individually and as a couple and fearlessly identify the positives and negatives in order to remove the denials, roadblocks conscious and unconscious detriments to successful resolution and provide healthier alternatives for the mutual benefit of the couple.
