As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist I offer an integrative approach to couples therapy, using psychodynamic, CBT, relational and other approaches. The first goal often is to obtain some immediate lessening of the conflict. Mediation can offer lessening of tension so that each individual might be able to identify issues which may be contributing to the misunderstanding and communciation problems. This can be facilitated with the therapist without judgement and with respect for each individual. With discussion and honesty over a period of time many couples gain insight into the challenges in themselves and their relationship which may be preventing growth and causing conflict.
