I love a great love story. The beginning of couple’s therapy begins with your love story. There was a time when the relationship was at its best and filled with hope, love, trust and planning for the future. The reason people come to therapy is to get back to a more preferred future. My job as a therapist is to hear the couples story to remember a time when the relationship was at its best. I listen for and hear exceptions to when the problem was not present. I would like to walk along beside you to help you build a more preferred relationship that includes your skills in building the relationship. I listen for the needle in the haystack that brings the couple back to a happy time in their life to co-construct a new chapter. I also believe, when working with couples, that it is important to build a new outcome. This is different than most other therapists working from traditional therapeutic approaches who focus on fixing what is wrong.
