I have spent my entire career focused on couples and marriage. My dissertation was "The Impact that Change in Status from an Intact Family to a Single Parent Family has on Adolescents". I have developed PreCana program for local parishes on the South Shore of Massachusetts with the focus on Communication, Negotiation and Expectations. I have been a presenter of the Parents Apart Program( a court mandated program for divorcing parents who have dependent children) for 20 years. I am trained in divorce mediation and also as a coach in the Collaborative Law process. I believe that the structure of a marriage changes every 3-7 years and it is important to manage expectyations, communicate about what is working and what needs to change and to remain open to negotiation. It is very important for couples to work on acceptance and to communicate clearly and respectfully with each other.

The same can be said about navigating through the divorce process. Often couples move at different rates emotionally. I currently work as a marriage coach or a divorce coach to help couples to feel, and to move through the grief process, so that they can still be effective parents and redefine their relationship with their ex partner.

Whether it is marriage or divorce I have the belief that people want to learn more adaptive skills to be successful in their intimate relationships. It is my goal to help couples navigate the challenges that they face through all of their marital stages of change towards a healthier happier life together.
