From kindergarten to post grad school there is not a class that teaches us how to fill the role of "spouse" or "parent!" So if we don't receive training how do we gain our tools for success? In our family of origin. Good, bad, or indifferent, what we saw our parents as spouses and parents are the only tools we are given to fill these powerful roles.
