If you feel overwhelmed, depressed, stressed, confused, anxious, or are struggling coping with life events, relationships, and work, I’m here to help.
My name is Anny Papatheodorou, and I’m a registered associate marriage and family therapist in Lafayette, CA. I offer relatable and soul-centered therapy to adults in the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as online throughout California.
I specialize in complex trauma, and its manifestations of anxiety and depression, and I’m trained in Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS / parts work), and Brainspotting therapy.
I draw on a variety of evidence-based modalities and wisdom-based tools to support you on your path toward a deeper understanding of yourself, and realization of your needs and wants.
People who gravitate towards my practice are self-reflective, and invested in their psychoemotional well-being and personal development.
I offer a non-judgmental space to explore your inner experience, deepen your understanding of yourself, and feel more connected to yourself, those you cherish, and your community.
We might be a good fit if you are seeking help with:
  • Shifting behavioral patterns that stem from a difficult childhood, and repeated violations of boundaries, rejection, betrayal, abandonment, and confusion,
  • Transforming your relationship to internalized shame, rejection, and criticism, especially when it is driven by your own inner critic (or choir of critics!). For instance, feelings of "not being good enough," having been characterized as being "too much,” and/or having heard the phrase, “what is wrong with you?” one time too many.
  • Better understanding the different parts of yourself, feel more self-assured and confident in your Self, and increase your self-compassion (for more on this, please view Internal Family Systems therapy).
  • Seeking ways to find your authentic voice, and speak your truth in a self-affirming way.
  • Reflecting on matters of identity, positionality, purpose, and meaning, as well as reconnecting to ancestry and heritage.
  • Setting healthy boundaries around your time, space, and emotional energy, i.e. not pouring from an empty cup.
