I am licensed in Kansas and Missouri to provide psychotherapy. I specialize in working with couples and individuals in their 30-70s. My style of working with clients is collaborative, supportive and wholistic (mind-body-brain-emotional-cultural). Most couples tend to be stuck in replicating old, unproductive relational and personal habits and patterns. I work to assist clients in understanding these habits, clarifying their needs, and developing more functional skills ofd communicating and responding to themselves as well as toward their partner/family. There are actual "skills" that need to be learned and practice to decrease experiences of being emotionally "over-reactive." Sometines old emotional wounds and beliefs also get in the way of developing healthy relationships. Therefore, I support couples and individuals in recognizing and working through past hurts that are often expressed and repeated in partnerships and families. I specialize in workiing with chronic stress, grief, trauma, relational communication issues, cultural-racial identity issues, and anxiety/depression. I also work from a "whole-person" trauma-sensitive, mindfulness-based and compassion-based way supported by neuroscience.
