Couples counseling allows you to gain insight into your relationship dynamics, communicate productively, stop conflicts before they start, and help repair any lingering emotional wounds or traumas. This process provides couples with the tools to communicate better, negotiate differences, problem solve and even argue in a productive and healthier way.
The purpose of couples counseling is helping partners learn more about each other and acquire healthy problem-solving skills.
I will interview both partners, together or individually, during the first few meetings. Afterward, I will provide productive feedback. The couple may set therapeutic goals and develop a plan for therapy so each person knows what to expect. In couples therapy, positive results often depend on the couple’s motivation and dedication to the process.
If you both are ready to learn new skills to solidify your relationship, communicating openly, improve problem solving skills, and learn to differences rationally – couple and marriage counseling is right for you!

As your treatment progresses, each partner becomes a better listener and communicator. Partners learn to support each other in new ways. It is not uncommon for conflict to arise in therapy sessions.
