Your sense of safety is of the utmost importance. The rapport between client and therapist is crucial to a successful therapy experience, which is why I offer a space that is non-judgmental, collaborative, and yours to express yourself freely. I don't believe there is a one-size-fits-all method when it comes to working with people, especially since there are hundreds of theories and models of therapy. Instead, my approach is integrative and pulls elements from several of them. By using a blend of evidence-based practices, therapy can be tailored to your needs with your beliefs, preferences, abilities, resources, and motivation taken into consideration.
My approach to working with you is adaptable, but there are essentials that you will find infused throughout our work together. Because the majority of my work has been with adult survivors of sexual and domestic violence, I understand how past experiences can have an overwhelming impact on our wellness and leave us feeling powerless. Therefore, I will always work through a trauma-informed and empowerment lens so that you can regain power and create change in your life. Together, you and I will develop goals and uncover the strengths needed to achieve them.
