The best word to describe my practice is Integrative or Holistic. I believe that true health and wellness comes from addressing those issues that create imbalance in our lives, either on a physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual level. My style is best described as warm and accepting so that an environment based in understanding rather than judgement is created. From this place, I like to work in partnership with individuals, couples, and/or families, exploring their areas of concern, options for change, and direction toward overall well-being. For couples, in particular, with all of the stressors that life throws at us daily, staying connected through effective communication, basic human regard for one another, kindness, and respect is especially challenging. When a couple encounters any stressor, ineffective ways of coping are often expressed leading to a variety of conflicts that we see today. The "dance" between partners can change making it difficult and sometimes impossible to back into "the flow" of that dance. This is a particular specialty in my practice- one that focuses on the "dance", assessing where it went off course and teaching new steps to not get back to what was but to learn a new, more fulfilling, trusting, and loving dance.
