As a Master’s level clinical marriage and family therapist and licensed professional counselor I believe in and am grounded in accessing overall health to improve and boost mental health functioning. Rarely is it one thing that contributes to symptoms and compromises us. I believe a thorough assessment should include physical health, nutrition and the external impact of social and relational stress as well as trauma. With a client’s guidance I come alongside to support them, identify their strengths, and develop a plan personally suited to and for them. I have extensive experience working in Tele-Mental Health which began as a Director of Mental Health over 10 years ago and now in my private practice as a Board Certified Tele-Mental Health therapist. I have been blessed to work with individuals from all over Alaska via the tele-mental health platform specializing in: Anxiety, Depression and Trauma. I am trained in various therapies: Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy and alternative therapies such as, A-TIP, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). Other areas of expertise include: Grief, Depression, Addictions, Trauma, Low self-worth and the unique challenges of Rural and/or Military life as well as Christian Counseling; Individual Counseling, Couples Counseling, Pre-Marital Counseling and Family Counseling. I am a certified in the SYMBIS (Save Your Marriage Before It Starts) assessment.
