I work from a trauma informed and systemic approach to conceptualize a presenting problem. What this means is that I will work on learning about someone as a part of a system with multiple parts, all connected and related to one another, and will not see the individual as the problem. Rather, I will work on learning about and assessing the relationships and interactions between people, use a strength-based approach, and explore/educate on ways that traumatic experiences can have emotional and behavioral affects. I am TF-CBT certified and have experience using CBT, CPT, DBT, EFT, and Solution focused brief therapy.
