My approach to marriage counseling is eclectic. I incorporate cognitive behavioral modalities, with a strong emphasis on effective communication training for couples. I meet the couples where they are in their relationship, assess their situation, then formulate a flexible plan to meet their goals. I also incorporate biblical / spiritual perspective at the request of the client. In marriage the "whole is only as good as the parts" and the idea of teamwork, friendship and romance are important. Therefore, I will see each spouse separately if needed for the benefit of the marriage as the whole unit.
