I am a psychologist in private practice in Beverly Hills since 1984, working with individuals and couples, seeing adults, adolescents, and children. My specialties include working with people dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, addictions (substances and behaviors), LGBT issues, and infidelities. In working with couples/marital issues, I look to see how each person contributes to the dynamics between them, both good and bad. I help partners communicate better, work towards greater intimacy, and steer away from dysfunction. You can see more about my point of view in an article I wrote that you can find on my website (please copy & paste into your browser): http://drcarlshubs.com/articles-2/5-most-recent-web-articles/success-and-failure-in-marriage/.
I have written several books on trauma and its treatment, with a focus on my new SAO/TEND trauma-based and attachment-based perspective and its applications. The first of them, Traumatic Experiences of Normal Development: An Intersubjective, Object Relations Listening Perspective on Self, Attachment, Trauma, and Reality, is published by Routledge and was released in March, 2020. The book is now available in print and as e-book on the Routledge site (please copy & paste) https://www.routledge.com/Traumatic-Experiences-of-Normal-Development-An-Intersubjective-Object/Shubs/p/book/9780367429188 and also on Amazon (please copy & paste)

I also had three articles published in Psychoanalytic Psychology, January 2008, on issues regarding transference, countertransference, and other issues in the treatment of trauma.
