My approach is not exactly traditional. When I went to enroll for my Masters at 55 years of age, I'd had 2 marriages, 2 divorces, and had been to marriage counseling for both. So, as far as I was concerned, marriage counseling didn't work, so I did not choose the Marriage and Family tract for the Masters. I chose the Masters in Counseling.
I've survived the black hole of depression, where you don't think your life will ever go on, narcotic addiction, horrendous anxiety attacks, and then found out I had a Severe Dependent Personality Disorder. Whewww! I kept at the therapy. When I'd gotten everything I could out of one, I went on to another. l learned about Attachment Patterns, and where that dependent personality came from. And what to do about it. Oh, and I've survived abusive relationships. That tends to be what happens when you have a dependent personality disorder. You can't see the red flags. Especially if there's been childhood trauma also.
Finally, after all these years of being single the work has paid off. I have met the man of my dreams, my Beloved. I had to work through my PTSD from previous relationships, I called my therapist a couple of times, but, by and large I knew what to do. When I caught myself reacting, I could talk about what was going on with me, listen to his response, and check things out when meaning was confusing.
So, my way is to work with each of you individually until I get a grasp on your Attachment Patterns, and how much trauma you've been through. Then I will teach you what to do. I do have a couple of requirements. You MUST be able declare a ceasefire. If there are children involved, you MUST not turn them against the other parent. Other than that, if you really want this relationship to work, I'll take you on. Oh, and any outright abuse, hitting, etc. must stop. You must also agree to at least 6 months of weekly therapy, each of you individually at first and then 2 hours a week together.
Now, if you are still reading this, lets talk about how much it costs. I've paid a great deal for this degree and training, its my retirement career. So I can't do it for free, or else I would. But I will take your situation under consideration. I have a sliding scale program, and also a Pay It Forward program, (but you have to qualify, and convince me you're seriously in it to stay together) if you are really serious. But don't waste my time or yours. You have to commit.

You know, I've written the standard thing about why I do this, but this is the real me. This is what I do. I can do this online, but I really like to work in person. Fort Myers Florida area.
