In the course of couples or family counseling, I first meet with each partner -- or family member -- individually, based on strict confidentiality. I help them develop awareness of their true worries, struggles and dilemmas. Once both partners -- or all the family members -- are ready to clearly articulate their needs, concerns and suggestions, we move on to joint couples -- or family -- counseling.
