Laura Michaels is a mental health counselor in private practice in Denver, Colorado. She specializes in trauma, grief, life transitions, depression, anxiety and works to help clients find purpose and meaning in their lives. Laura is also trained as a Level II EMDR clinician. She and co-author, Dr. Claire Zilber, have recently published a book, Living in Limbo: Creating Structure and Peace when Someone You Love is Ill. Before becoming a counselor, Laura served for 20 years as Executive Director of the Colorado Psychiatric Society and worked at the University of Colorado Depression Center as Director of Public Policy and Administration. She has served on numerous committees and advisory groups both nationally and locally in the area of mental health.
