I'm Lisa Chen, LMFT (California License #140374), founder of Lisa Chen & Associates Therapy in Hermosa Beach. I work with couples and high-achieving individuals: executives, founders, physicians, attorneys, and partners who are each carrying a lot.

Before becoming a therapist, I earned an Ivy League degree and worked in corporate finance and on Wall Street. I know firsthand how a demanding career can crowd out the relationships that matter most.

My couples work draws on the Gottman Method and Imago Relationship Therapy. When old hurts keep showing up in the present, I also use Internal Family Systems (IFS), including Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO), EMDR, and somatic approaches.

Couples can work with us in weekly sessions or in a couples therapy intensive, which gives you extended, focused time in a single day or over a short stretch of days.

We see clients in person at our Hermosa Beach office (2615 Pacific Coast Hwy, Suite 326) and by telehealth anywhere in California. Our team includes licensed therapists and associates practicing under supervision, including Spanish-speaking clinicians.

I'm warm, direct, and grounded. We start with a consultation to understand what's going on and whether we're a good fit.
