There's not much more important than our primary relationship. When it's working, we feel whole, at ease, supported, and joy is woven into the fabric of life. But when it's not, nothing feels right.
Whether it's for communication, a shift in values, dealing with parenting, infidelity, considering separation or divorce, or a host of other things that come up in marriage, couples therapy can make a huge difference.
Having been a couples therapist for over 30 years, I've integrated more than technique or modality into my work. A lifetime of experience of challenges has brought to my work a readiness to field just about anything.
Whether considering marriage as the next step, dealing with the life changes of parenting, career, turning into "sandwich generation" caretakers of both the young and aging parents, or dealing with the daunting shifts as we age into retirement and beyond, this work gives you the time and space to hear each other, learn to understand each other's wounds, and find your way through the challenges of life.
I help partners learn how to listen so they are hearing in a different way. I help with translation and depth of understanding, and learning how to communicate with more love, more willingness to listen, and more safety.
Your marriage is like anything else: to keep it running well, it needs tending, and sometimes it needs repair. Ninety minute sessions allow the work to go deeper more quickly. Hard sometimes, sure, but the rewards? Priceless.
