I work primarily with couples to identify the patterns that keep them stuck and develop healthier ways to communicate, manage conflict, express their needs, establish boundaries, rebuild trust, and strengthen emotional connection. I incorporate principles and interventions from the Gottman Method, including tools to improve communication, increase friendship and intimacy, manage conflict more effectively, and strengthen the couple's relationship.
Because relationship difficulties often affect the entire family system, when appropriate, I may also include children or other family members in sessions to address family dynamics, improve communication, and strengthen relationships within the family.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed. I am a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor and founder of Living Rivers Counseling. In addition to couples and families, I work with individuals, teens, and young adults experiencing relationship difficulties, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, codependency, domestic violence, addiction-related concerns, and life transitions.
I am EMDR-trained and also incorporate CBT and person-center.
