I have been working with couples for many years, to reignite mutual love and develop skills of communication. I utilize Cognitive Interpersonal Therapy (CIT) to assist couples in becoming much closer and loving toward one another. CIT, created by Dr. David Burns, is a model of therapy in which each person must take responsibility for their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a relationship.
I assist clients in becoming:
- Interested, rather than being interesting
- Understanding of their partner, rather than demanding to be understood
- Assertive, rather than being aggressive
- Strengths-focused, rather than being fixated on partner deficits
- Aware of their own triggers, rather than controlling of others
