I have a very flexible approach to relationship therapy. There are several principles that inform my approach in general. One is the importance of a positive attitude. Also important is the ability to acccept personal responsibility for problems in the relationship. Willingness to work on communication is universal...most importantly the ability to listen carefully. Respect, compassion, consideration, service...all critical for a healthy relationship. I am particularly fond of the work of John and Julie Gottman, Insoo Kim Berg, John Bowlby, and Murray Bowen.
