For marriage counseling, I use Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy to help couples find emotional connectional with each other. I help couples create a space in the relationship where it is safe to express themselves, knowing that they will be accepted and heard. Once the safety has been created, I can help them address past attachment wounds that have not been adressed. I don't believe in find whose "at fault." Rather, I focus on the negative reactive cycle that takes over the relationship and causes disconnection. Therapy is collaborative and experiential - I foster new episodic emotional experiences in session that help the couple fince connection.
