My approach to couples therapy is behavioral. I believe a focus on the context of the problems within a relationship is of great importance, and interventions should be designed around this understanding. I believe in working toward realistic solutions to relationship problems that result in outcomes ranging from behavior change to acceptance.
I believe that the more a couple is engaged in working with eachother in session, the better. However, I would not describe my approach as passive. I believe I also provide a friendly, safe environment to explore and pursue meaningful change.
