I am a family therapist. I work intensely with parents to help them become the healers in the family. I have a three-pronged approach. To begin, I work to help everyone in the family calm their brain chemistry. With the creation of a Calming Corner in the house, families learn and practice calming Time-In tools and strategies. Next, we focus on repairing ruptured relationships in the family. Everyone is included as we establish special connection time between parents and children and for the family as a whole. This is a time when we create bonding rituals and family traditions that strengthen a healthy family culture. With calmer minds, an increase in connection and trust, we turn our attention to solving family problems. Parents and kids work together on the same team to come up with solutions that work and work for everyone. Families are the solution.
