I have been working in the mental health field for 10 years starting as a behavioral health intervention service provider and moving on to becoming a mental health counselor. I believe that everyone has the power to make their lives the best that it can be. My goal is to provide a new perspective to help a person achieve their best self. I believe in cooperation between client and counselor. I do not know a person better than they know themselves, so I strive to empower my clients while offering support and council. I have been trained extensively in the use of play therapy, which is often a very effective tool when working with young people. I have learned that young people communicate far more with actions than they do with words. Therefore, play therapy is a way to speak to kids in their native language so to speak. Additionally, it is equally effective with my adult clients who are comfortable with that style of counseling. Regardless of the techniques I choose to employ, every person who walks into my office is treated as a unique individual with a treatment plan tailored specifically for them
