My name is Megan Franklin and I am a Licensed Psychotherapist practicing in Littleton Colorado. I was born and raised in South Africa, where I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology. I moved to Colorado in 2006, and completedmy MA in Clinical Counseling through the University of Northern Colorado.
My passion is working with clients to overcome and manage life changes and transitions as seamlessly as possible. I understand there are challenges – fear of change is a given – yet there is nothing more healing than connecting in a safe, non-judgemental environment, where growth and potential are encouraged.
I offer therapy services to older adolescents and adults with a focus on anxiety disorders, depression, life transitions, stress management and trauma related issues including dissociative disorders. I meet the client where they are and adjust my techniques and skills to treat each client as the individual they are. I utilize therapy tools, coaching, life skills, goal setting,and creative arts to help my clients move to a place of better integration and wellness. I am EMDR Trained and incorporate mindfulness, CBT, DBT, coaching and humanistic approaches in each session.
Following graduation in 2012, I began working in the prison system, I moved into inpatient and outpatient mental health and substance abuse care, working closely with both adolescents and adults in these settings to prevent relapse and increase coping skills and self-awareness to not only live but thrive. I began my private practice in 2014, working within group homes, and group private practice settings. My experience is varied and I have used the different settings I have worked in to inform a greater and more holistic view of mental health and human behavior.
Most importantly I bring humor, empathy, wholeheartedness and unconditional positive regard to every session.
At this time, Megan’s availability for all appointments is limited to Monday-Thursday 8 am-3 pm.
