I now work predominantly with saving marriages from divorce, especially the more complicated ones other therapists have sent my way. My basic advertisement is "Considering Calling a Divorce Attorney? Call me first! Couples who choose me don't get divorced, they instead learn new ways to love one another." How can I make such a claim? First, I teach eight skills that make relationships easier. These are eight skills few people learned growing up. Couples without the more tenacious issues have resolved up to thirty major marriage issues within four months. The more troubled ones usually require around eleven months. Second, I've discovered how to show individuals and couples how to decipher the ways in which their emotions sabotage communication. This is particularly helpful with couples having a history of sexual abuse or rape.
