I work with individuals, couples, and families on issues pertaining to sexuality, sex, and gender. My goal is to help individuals and relationships grow stronger through communication, patience, tolerance, and self-care. My specialties include working with individuals who have issues with their sexual or gender identity, sexual functioning, sexually compulsive behaviors, or who have relationship or communication difficulties. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher and often incorporate meditation and mindfulness training into therapy sessions.
I have a masters and doctorate in Sociology and Gender Studies from the University of Florida. I have another masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University. I completed my postgraduate studies at Florida Postgraduate Sex Therapy Training Institute and am a Certified Sex Therapist. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor.
In addition to being a therapist, I teach for the University of Tampa. I write for the Tampa Bay Times and have been on several newscasts discussing relationships and mental health. Please see my website for more information: www.drkatieschubert.com
