I mainly use two contemporary evidence-based approaches in couples therapy, including the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy. The Gottman Method was developed through over 40 years of clinical experiments, observing over 3000 couples of all types and different life stages. The methods used are clear, tangible, concrete, and highly effective.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) has a 90% improvement rate and 70-75% recovery rate in couples therapy, the highest success rate among all methods in helping couples. Therapists focus on attachment and how you bond and connect with your significant others, discovering how past feelings and vulnerabilities interfere with the current romantic relationship. It helps to build deeper trust, connection, and productive ways to respond to emotional situations.
