I'm a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario (CRPO). I've been in practice for over 10 years, trained in Relational Psychotherapy at the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy (TIRP) a clinical training program in psychodynamic, intersubjective, and relational psychotherapy. A member of the Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy (CAPT), and the International Association for Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (IARPP). I've studied at the University of Toronto in the fields of Philosophy, Psychology, and Biology. Transitioning from the corporate world with many years of experience ranging from leadership management to growth strategy. My passion and areas of expertises resides in the realm of human growth, emotional health, and happiness.
Relational psychotherapy is a powerful, effective model for working with individuals who suffer from emotional, psychological, and relational distress.
Relational psychotherapy balances the study of structures or patterns of self experience with the study of persons in interpersonal process. Through the interpersonal process of the therapeutic interaction relational therapy strengthens and transforms a clients sense of self, which in turn enhances the individuals well-being in the world. With this perspective on therapy and relationship, a Relational Therapist takes seriously the interpersonal impact of power differentials and social issues such as race, class, culture, gender, and sexual differences. Working with these issues as they present in the clients life and in the therapeutic relationship. The principles of relational psychotherapy are drawn from self-psychology, intersubjectivity theory, relational psychoanalysis, psychodynamic developmental theory, trauma theory, and feminist theories of psychotherapy.
