Alexis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has over 10 years’ experience in the behavioral health and addiction recovery field. She has worked in numerous roles and settings within the field including crisis interventionist, therapist, program manager, and clinical director. She has extensive experience working with clients who have been living with co-occurring disorders and feels particularly passionate about helping that population recover. She also spent six months training with the Florida Center for Survivors of Torture where she provided culturally sensitive therapeutic interventions for clients seeking asylum in the US while learning new skills in culturally competent care. Specializing in trauma informed behavior-based therapies, she believes that the key to success is empowering the individual to be confident in their abilities to maintain healthy changes over time through healthy changes in cognition.
