Marriage.com Research Lab

Marriage.com Research

Marriage.com Research Lab explores the psychology of modern relationships through large-scale, data-driven studies on communication, trust, intimacy, and emotional well-being. Our mission is to connect empirical research with real-world relationship experiences—translating behavioral patterns into insights that help individuals and couples build healthier, more fulfilling connections. Each study draws from diverse participant pools, including couples, singles, and therapists, to ensure balanced representation across gender, age, and relationship stages.

Our Methodology

Research at Marriage.com is led by Malini Bhatia, a Master’s in International Business Management and a bachelor’s degree in Economics, and Kristina Tchalova, a behavioral scientist with a PhD in experimental psychology and 14+ years of experience conducting behavioral science research. Together, they oversee the full research cycle—from survey design and sampling to data analysis and peer review—ensuring that each publication meets high academic and ethical standards.

The data collection and analysis processes are powered by ProProfs Survey and Qualaroo, advanced platforms known for their reliability, scalability, and data integrity in behavioral research. ProProfs Survey supports structured questionnaire design with adaptive branching logic, randomized sequencing, and response validation tools for clean, unbiased data capture. Qualaroo complements this with behavioral targeting capabilities that recruit authentic respondents in real digital environments through context-based triggers—enhancing authenticity and reducing self-report bias.

Both platforms maintain enterprise-grade security and comply with GDPR and CCPA regulations, ensuring ethical data handling and participant confidentiality. Their analytics engines enable cross-tabulation, segmentation, and confidence testing, allowing the team to identify statistically significant trends while minimizing sampling error.

All studies are designed to achieve statistically meaningful representation, with a minimum of 1,000 qualified participants per survey. Sampling is structured to achieve a 95% confidence level and ±3% margin of error, with demographic balancing across key subgroups. Data integrity is further ensured through response validation, outlier screening, and reliability testing (Cronbach’s 0.8). Statistical analyses leverage cross-tabulation, segmentation, and confidence testing to identify significant behavioral patterns, while findings are reviewed by licensed therapists and editorial specialists to ensure psychological accuracy and real-world relevance.

By integrating data science, relationship psychology, and research-grade technology, Marriage.com Research Lab delivers insights that are credible, replicable, and deeply human—shedding light on how people connect, communicate, and grow together.
