Dr. Shannon McHugh is a licensed psychologist who works in private practice and specializes in assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults who have developmental and social delays, behavioral difficulties, those who have experienced traumatic events in their past, or those struggling with a combination of mental health and physical health and/or fitness concerns. She also specializes in couples' work, helping couples learn how to communicate better with one another and to increase the intimacy and bond they share.
In addition to helping couples manage their struggles as a partnership, she also assists couples transition into becoming parents by helping them learn how to reduce their parenting stress and feel more confident in tackling difficulties that come up with their relationships with their children. She is also a freelance blog writer who writes for various publications and also as an assistant editor for several academic journals.
