I'm a black woman who's comfortable in my skin, but i keep hearing from other women that i should be meek when i meet a guy. That doesn't sound right to me, and i'm sure black guys don't hear this advice. How is black dating advice different for men and women?

I don't think there should be different between black men and women dating. They both should be honest, caring, kind. They should be real and authentic. If someone tells you to act different because you're a woman, dump that friend.
