Marital infidelity is one of the most common serious marital problems.  It causes many divorces, but it’s also very often overcome in marriage.  Both husbands and wives are likely to cheat, although men are more likely to have short-term flings than women, who tend to prefer romantic affairs.  Breaking the vow of monogamy is painful for both partners.  Even the one doing the cheating will often suffer loads of guilt, shame and concern over what’s “normal” or what’s “wrong with them.”  Surviving infidelity can only be accomplished when the couple works through their feelings together, usually with the help of a marriage counselor.

Unfortunately marital infidelity is very common. Even if partners do not engage in sexual intercourse outside of marriage, many are already unfaithful in their hearts and emotions as they look at and lust after partners who are not their own spouse. The curse of pornography is very wide spread and wreaks havoc in many marriages. Those who wish to remain faithful in their marriage must be wholeheartedly committed to their spouse, cherishing and protecting their relationship and fiercely guarding against many temptations in the world today which are designed to destroy marriages.
