You wedding night is no doubt something you have both been looking forward to for a long time. With all the excitement of planning your wedding day and where to go for your honeymoon, by the time you eventually arrive in your bedroom you may both feel a little tired. So take time to unwind and relax together. Enjoy a quiet warm drink and take a shower or bath. When you are ready to go to bed just let your love for your spouse express itself naturally as you celebrate being together at last. Don’t feel you have to put on some kind of “show” or do something extraordinarily awesome…. You are the one your spouse chose to marry and the fact that you love each other is enough.
Many couples find their first night together as a married couple to be somewhat anti-climactic. That’s because the amount of work and attention that goes into wedding preparation is intense, the drama and pageantry of the wedding day itself requires a lot of energy, and the reception usually takes what little strength remains. Having a wonderful first night together should be easy if you can get into the mindset of how you’ll be feeling once the ceremony and reception are over. Planning to have lots of ways to pamper each other and get relaxed together (such as a foot rub and a soak in a hot tub) might work.
There is only ever one ``first night´´ so it is worth making it special. You are both going to be extremely tired after the wedding so it is a good idea to book into a lovely hotel or B&B and go out for dinner, rather than having to cook a meal and make beds etc. in a log cabin. Enjoy a good meal, go for a long walk somewhere pretty, and relax. Or go for a sunset swim in the sea, but organise a fantastic picnic before the time to be waiting for you. Enjoy the fact that you are Mr & Mrs, and enjoy one another´s company and the peace after all the hustle of wedding preparations.
